Day 3 in ICU - 5/21/26

Yesterday afternoon Tinna was able to get out of bed & move around a little for the first time.

Tinna’s lead doctor & team, Dr. El-Sayed removed packing from her nose & sinuses. Everything was looking good and this should assist with pressure relief. All vitals remain stable.

Possibly 1 or less days are left in the ICU. Many things are going though the healing process that was worked on such as the sinuses, side of left eye and the skull base. Which requires a lot of attention during recovery. The spinal cord drain remains in for an unknown time period but they are keeping the valve closed for now. They believe when the drain is open, it’s causing some head pain/pressure.

Swelling has stopped increasing late yesterday & we hope it starts going the other way soon.

She is having a love-hate-relationship with her blood pressure cuff & the inflatable sleeves on her legs that keep squeezing her, randomly & annoyingly.

Nauseousness continued to come & go through the evening into the night.

☀️

Tinna woke up this morning feeling the best she has since before the surgery. A few medicine adjustments have been made and she was given some caffeine pills, as she hasn’t been able to have her daily coffee since last weekend.

The most amount of food was also enjoyed this morning with a croissant, dry Cheerios, bacon and juice to wash it down.

She has gotten out of bed a few times now and is starting to feel a little more normal with short walks down the ICU halls.

Please know she is not ignoring anyone’s calls or messages as this morning was the first time she was able to call me.

She also just fully understood this website & Meal Train as it was not clicking the days before when we were telling her about it. Needless to say it brought teers to her eyes as she started see all the messages & donations!!

She also gave her approval to share this blog out with other friends, present & past co-workers. But, we’re not going full public via Facebook / Instagram at this time.

Our fingers are crossed she gets to move out of the ICU into something more comfortable in time for me & the kids to spend weekend with her.
Does anyone know of a helicopter Uber for us, as this Holiday traffic into SF will be thick!

*Note: The daily blog updates will happen everyday around noon. The bottom of this page will take you to the next or previous one.

As Tinna reconstructs her strength, construction is also right outside her window
