Out of ICU - 5/22/26

As the sun set yesterday Tinna was moved out of the ICU and into a much more comfortable room. It even has a private bathroom with a shower!

Yesterday was a turning point on the path to recovery. Tinna was able to get out of bed and move around more then she has yet. Some more walking was had inside the ICU.

Swelling is improving, along with the pressure & pain. She is still uncomfortable but it is now a little more manageable.

It was around lunch my phone began to ring (which it has been a lot, lately) and I was greeted with Tinna’s face on my caller ID. It kind of brought back a feeling, I felt when we first started dating as it’s been 4 days since she called or texted me!

We had lots to chat about and it was great hearing her voice, sounding almost normal. I told her she sounded great! But, she did sound like she was talking with both her fingers in her nose…

No new time frame yet, for how many more days are left. She still has the spinal drain installed with the nurses checking on vitals frequently.

A proper dinner was ordered and she ate a good amount. She even noted that she could taste the chocolate chip cookie, slightly! Which is amazing as her doctor said it’s unlikely due to all the smelling nerves were removed.

The evening came to a close with more text messages & photos exchanged!

☀️☀️

You Win some, You Loose some.

Sadly as the moon positioned itself outside the window, Tinna became uncomfortable & nauseous; not a lot of sleep was had.

Nauseousness has been the biggest challenge with it coming & going and is such a crappy feeling.

The Doctors came in the morning and removed the left nostril plug, they installed after surgery. For the first time Tinna can breath through one side of her nose. The right side plug will be removed tomorrow. This should also help with the healing & swelling of her left eye.

Continuing to open & closing of the spinal drain has been happening to ensure proper drainage. This also seems to be effecting the nauseousness when left open for too long.

With Tinna in her new room she can now have more then one visitor at a time & minors (we might of broke a couple of rules the day of the surgery in the ICU).

The girls & I are excited about of visits with Mom this weekend!

*Note: The daily blog updates will happen everyday around noon. The bottom of this page will take you to the next or previous one.
