Homecoming - 5/25/26
The spinal drain went over 24 hours with the valve closed & was removed before lunch yesterday.
Several meds needed picked up in Vacaville for Tinna & I was off to UCSF to pick her up.
Tinna was rolled in a wheel chair & down 15 floors into the fresh air. This was the first time outside since 5 AM last Monday.
Traffic was moderate on the way home, but she felt all the potholes, cracks & bridge transitions…and all of it was my fault.
She was very happy to come home and see the family & dogs. The night before I blew up balloons and had the kids hang them in the morning. With a 9th & 7th grader I didn’t think I needed to get involved. Yes, I glanced at it right before I left to get Tinna. But, only Tinna spotted the mistake once she was home lol. (photo below)
The evening closed on the couch with lots of blankets, Hawaiian BBQ take out & Waterworld the movie. The movie was picked as we just watch the live Waterworld show at Universal Studios two weeks ago. Which was well done and full of fire, explosions & an awesome flying surprise at the end. Her sister, Cynthia also came home with us and will be staying for a little (thank goodness).
The Night
It was challenging for her to stay asleep and manage the head pain & pressure. We also don’t have a bed that can move up & down like the beds she’s been in all week. Now that Tinna is home there is less pain meds & dosages. It also could of been the result of all the moving in the afternoon coming home.
Cynthia & I worked together looking at all the doctors notes, drug instructions & picking up additional over the counter recommendations I missed. By luch we had Tinna feeling better, with some breakfast down & comfortable in bed with her dogs.
Tinna seems to recovering well, but still has ups & downs with the pain & pressure in here head, which triggers the nauseous feeling.
Out next trip into UCSF will be this coming Thursday.
*Note: The daily blog updates will happen everyday around noon. The bottom of this page will take you to the next or previous one.
